Pokémon-style blockchain-based game Pixelmon is introducing a new event called “Hunting Season.”
This event is set to begin on August 28, allowing players to stake their Pixelmon NFTs and earn $MON—the platform’s native currency—over several phases.
The event is designed to offer structured rewards over time, with participants able to engage in multiple seasons to maximize their rewards.

What is Pixelmon?
Pixelmon is a blockchain-based game that combines elements of an open-world RPG and NFT-based digital collectibles.
In the game, players can capture, train, and evolve creatures known as Pixelmons, which are central to the gameplay. These creatures can be owned and traded on the Ethereum blockchain. In addition, players can evolve their Pixelmon using in-game resources and NFTs called serums adding another layer of strategy and progression to the game.
The game has garnered attention for its innovative approach, incorporating a dual-token economy with $MON as the primary utility token, enabling various in-game transactions and staking mechanisms.
The game also now offers a range of interactive features, including PvP battles, land management, and social hubs where players can engage with the community following its recent rebranding under a new leadership.

About Pixelmon Hunting Season
The Hunting Season event is structured into three distinct phases, each offering different opportunities for players to earn rewards.
Phase 1: Accumulation
In the first phase, players can stake their Pixelmon NFTs to accumulate $MON. The amount of $MON accumulated is directly tied to the rarity of the staked NFT, with more rare NFTs generating higher rewards. $MON accumulates daily throughout this phase, which lasts for approximately one month, depending on the number of days in that particular month.
It is important to note that $MON accumulated during this phase is locked and cannot be accessed until the next phase. If a player decides to unstake their NFT before the end of the Accumulation Phase, all accumulated $MON will be lost.
Phase 2: Drip
The Drip Phase follows the accumulation period. During this 20-day phase, the $MON accumulated in Phase 1 becomes available for collection. Players can claim their $MON daily or choose to wait until the end of the phase to collect the full amount.
During this phase, unstaking NFTs will result in the forfeiture of all accumulated and locked $MON. However, any $MON that has been unlocked but not yet claimed will remain available for claiming.
Phase 3: Grace
The final phase, known as the Grace Period, gives players an additional month to claim any uncollected $MON. This phase ensures that all participants have sufficient time to retrieve their rewards before the event concludes.
Hunting Season will take place on the MON Protocol’s website, with the potential for future seasons that may introduce additional rewards or features.
