Ordz Games Introduces Blockchain-Based Handheld Device BitBoy

Hong Kong-based startup Ordz Games has unveiled BitBoy, a handheld gaming console that merges retro gaming with Bitcoin integration.

BitBoy, designed by entrepreneur “z3th” of Ordz Games, pays homage to the iconic Nintendo Game Boy of 1989 with its distinctive translucent orange casing. Beyond its nostalgic design, BitBoy introduces the concept of a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DEPIN), aimed at enhancing web3 gaming experiences.

The device offers players the unique opportunity to earn Bitcoin rewards while indulging in classic retro-style games.

More Than Just a Gaming Device

Bitboy will also function as a secure hardware wallet for managing Bitcoin assets, providing users with a multifunctional gaming experience.

The device extends its support to a variety of classic games dating back to the pre-PlayStation 1 era through emulation and facilitates multiplayer gaming via Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. Users will have the opportunity to earn points and airdrops seamlessly within the DEPIN network, complemented by its modest mining capabilities.

BitBoy also introduces a feature allowing games to be directly inscribed onto the Bitcoin blockchain using “Ordinals” – a method for creating Bitcoin NFTs, offering a new way to integrate cryptocurrency technology within a gaming hardware.

Priced at around $500, BitBoy is set to hit the market with preorders opening in mid-April.
