Ethereum Name Service (ENS) abruptly halted its ‘ENS Points System’ just a day after its initiation on April Fools Day.
Launched and then terminated within just five hours, the program was hoped to offer rewards to ENS users, though details remained sparse.
The reward initiative’s sudden halt has left the community confused, prompting questions about the program’s brief duration and its real intentions—especially considering its timing.

A Brief and Baffling Journey
The program’s suspension was unexpectedly declared on X, a day after its unveiling. Citing “global date/time constraints”, the organizers “were forced” to sunet the ENS points.
Skepticism and disappointment are brewing among ENS users due to the program’s brief lifespan. Many speculate it was an April Fool’s prank.
Echoing the community’s confusion, one member questioned, “Was it an April Fool’s joke? Then why only 5 hours? April 1st is supposed to last 24 hours.”
Meanwhile, others expressed frustration over lost opportunities for free ENS claims.
In the fast-paced world of web3, the sudden stop of the ENS Points System leaves us with more questions than answers.
